15 Apr Day in DISCAMP
As I announced last week, on Saturday, April 11 was held the II Edition of the Tournament of Basketball Adapted with tribute to veterans at the municipal sports centre of Vall d´uixo. Sponsor the event seemed a good idea to get involved, learn more about the sport and the people who practice it and to collaborate with a cause through our company. But we needed a part, a part key to all of this will be charged sense. So, after several meetings and the great acceptance by the Federation and players, we put us in contact with DISCAMP, Association of disabled people in the Camp de Morvedre boasts more than 60 partners, to offer to organize a day where to meet us all in the same space and hear testimony, first person, the players of the Club VUBA. Testimonials both personally, and professional sports.
While we had these meetings, we met the great work they do makers of independence workshop, a young association whose objective is to carry out activities aimed at promotion of independence and personal autonomy focused to wheelchair users. And we invite you to attend.
Friday, April 10, we meet at the headquarters of DISCAMP in Puerto de Sagunto. People began arriving about 10:30 hours, while he went to the Hall, doncel Club VUBA awaited them.
One by one, they were recounting their personal experiences and how sport had helped them find an activity in which to develop their skills, meet people and, ultimately, benefit from all the good things that one brings the practice of the sport. Each of the stories became much by their particularity and the nuances that surround it. Obserbamos attendees, attentive and thrilled with what they heard. Only by seeing these expressions, the day was deserving punishment.
And, although all morning, it was a trickle of people coming and going, half-day, we decided to take a break for snacks and take to practice a little basketball with attendees.
About 12:30 hrs. He started the second part of the day, this time from the hand of Juan, Bruno and Anna from the workshop of independence. They presented us his method of work, as well as some actual cases in which they are already working.
The day ended with very good flavor of mouth, exchanging impressions and contacts, and that hope, to leave good relationships and collaborations. Everyone, absolutely everyone that we were present, we get good sensations home, of those which are a good “shot” of positive energy and help you get up and move forward with what stands.
Saturday, April 11, a bus took away all those members of DISCAMP who wanted to come to see the basketball tournament. The morning was fun and lively under the motto of: “for many times that fall, the important thing is to get up”.
Thank you all for your assistance!
